People are powerful! The relationships we create with family members, friends and peers allow us to apply meaning to our own circumstances.

When working with students, I use relationships to help explore patterns and identify solutions to address concerns like family conflict, life/academic transitions, trauma, anxiety and crisis intervention. I have experience working with active-duty service members, veterans and students of various cultural backgrounds in schools, private practice and on Joint Base Lewis-McCord. As a Counselor at TCC, I believe each person’s life is unique and together we will utilize your distinct strengths to develop goals that will help you succeed.

Dave

I am honored to be part of people’s learning journey. I have been at TCC for more than 15 years and I am devoted to the success of our students.

I am originally from Buffalo, N.Y., and I have a BA from SUNY Potsdam. I also have a M.Ed. from Alabama A&M University and a Doctorate in Counseling from George Washington University. I have always had a special interest in issues surrounding grief and loss. I use a variety of counseling techniques, but I approach every situation as unique. I strongly believe that all people have the ability to play a positive role in their life and the lives of others. We all have tremendous potential. I feel lucky to have the opportunity to explore that potential with the people I speak with.

Lexie

I am privileged and humbled to be able to work with students as they share stories and explore who they are.

As a counselor, I am here to provide support, kind challenge, intentional guidance, and sustainable tools and resources in a creative, affirming, and collaborative manner to all students. Within teaching and counseling, I work to cultivate a brave space that welcomes individuals to show up in their full humanity to facilitate growth and change, as they define it. I strive to be as anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, intersectional, and holistic as possible while helping folks navigate the many systems that exist to get care and their needs met in healthy, and meaningful ways.

James

It is an honor and privilege to be able to work with students.

I can assist you in assessing, planning, and implementing your immediate and long-range academic goals. Additionally, I am available to assist you in assessing your aptitudes, abilities, and interests concerning career pathways. Lastly, I recognize that personal concerns can be a major influence to student success or lack thereof. My natural laid back disposition often helps people relax and feel comfortable to talk. I am not going to pretend to have all the answers or solutions to a person’s problem(s), but together we can take steps to identify possible options and create an action plan to address that which concerns you most.

Gaby

I provide a compassionate and safe space to students from various backgrounds, cultural experiences, and identities.

In sessions, I like to explore relationships, cultural identities, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and other barriers that might impact a student's ability to be successful. I have experience working with BIPOC students and other marginalized identities.   I believe in a space where students can be truly seen and validated, they are able to make necessary changes to cope, heal, and achieve academic and personal success.
