How You Know We’re Keeping Our Promise
The TCC faculty identified eight Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs) for all students.
Core of Knowledge
Apply knowledge to academic and professional endeavors, as applicable.
- Use the vocabularies and methods of the fields of communication, quantitative reasoning, social science, natural science, and the humanities to complete analytical, practical, or creative tasks; and/or
- Describe the core theories and practices of a discipline/vocation/industry and apply the tools, technologies, and methods of that field to answer questions or solve problems.
Career Readiness
Identify personal interests, strengths, values, and skills that will inform intentional
career decision-making and enhance decision-making processes regarding professional
ethics and self-advocacy.
Communication
Use written, verbal, nonverbal, and digital communication to increase knowledge of
diverse perspectives, express ideas, persuade audiences, and/or advocate for ideas
or causes.
Critical Thinking
Analyze and summarize complex information, create an argument that seeks and considers
marginalized perspectives, and use reasoning and evidence to draw conclusions, ask

Evaluate, use, and produce information ethically and effectively for a wide range
of purposes and critically examine how the production, publication, accessibility,

Use digital and emerging technologies ethically and effectively to learn, work, and
navigate professional and academic fields of study.
Social Justice
Interact productively and equitably with others in diverse local, national, and global
communities; address social justice issues based on awareness of historical and contemporary

Social Responsibility and Sustainability
Demonstrate knowledge of one's place within interconnected natural and human systems,
evaluate the social and environmental impacts of one's choices, and advance sustainability
through information and action.
