TCC Music Presents The Broadway Musical

Audition for our Spring Quarter 2026 Production: June 12, 13 at 7 P.M. and June 14 at 2 P.M. Directed & music directed by Amy Van Mechelen.

  • Monday, October 20 | 2-5 P.M. | Auditorium (Building 2)

Preparing for Auditions

Some roles may be double cast (two people would play Jo, and each would get 2 performances, with one person performing for the final dress rehearsal on June 11 which will be an invite only dress rehearsal). Also, some performers may play two roles in the production.

Sing

Please prepare a 1-2 minute song of any style or genre. If you happen to know a musical theater song, please sing that as this show is a musical. A pianist will be provided, please bring sheet music if you have it. You may also bring a track to accompany you. Please have it cued and ready to send to the Production Assistant. 

Dialogue

Depending on the roles you’re interested in auditioning for, there will be dialogue for you to read. You will read opposite either Amy, the Director, or the Production Assistant.

Callbacks

Thursday, October 23 | 7-9 P.M. | Music Suite (Building 19) Room 36

If students are asked to attend callbacks, music and dialogue will be sent via email along with a frame of time to attend.

Casting Announcement

Students that make it into the cast will be notified via email by Monday October 27, in time for Advising Day, Monday November 3. Students that accept a role in the cast will be required to attend MU173, in Winter Quarter and MU173 in Spring Quarter.

  • The Winter Quarter class will be held Mondays and Wednesdays, 1:30-3:30 P.M. In this class we will learn all the music and dialogue for the musical, with the goal of getting close to memorized or “off book”.
  • The Spring Quarter class will be held Mondays and Wednesdays, 1:30-4:30 P.M. In this class we will be staging the show, also known as blocking.
  • In the Spring Class there will be a “tech week” before the show where students will be required to attend: June 7 - Cue to Cue - all day, June 8-11 | 6-10 P.M.
