Who We Are
Conference Resources provides comprehensive support for institutional and community events, meetings, and conferences held on campus. Established to streamline event coordination and enhance the utilization of campus facilities, the department serves as a centralized resource for logistical planning, venue management, and client engagement.
Mission
Conference Resources advances the institution’s mission by fostering collaboration,
innovation, and community engagement through the effective use of campus spaces and
services. The department ensures that each event, whether academic, professional,
or public, reflects the institution’s standards of excellence and accessibility.
Services
Conference Resources offers a full spectrum of event support, including:

Facility Scheduling and Management: Coordination of meeting rooms, lecture halls, and event venues to ensure optimal use of institutional resources.

Event Planning and Logistics: Comprehensive planning assistance encompassing room setup, audio-visual support, catering coordination, signage and more.

Guest Services: Streamlined communication, pre-event run throughs and on-site assistance.

Partnership and External Client Support: Guidance and logistical support for external organizations seeking to host conferences or events on campus.
Who We Serve
The department supports internal stakeholders, faculty, staff, and student organizations, as well as external partners, professional associations, and community groups whose activities align with the institution’s mission and values.

Event & Meeting Spaces
Conference Resources manages a variety of campus venues suitable for events, meetings, and conferences of all sizes. Spaces range from classrooms and conference rooms to larger event venues such as the gymnasium, art gallery, and outdoor areas. Each space is available for rental subject to availability and alignment with institutional priorities.

Associate Director of Conference Resources

As a lifelong Washingtonian, I’m proud to be a part of Tacoma Community College as the Associate Director of Conference Resources. With experience coordinating statewide continuing education programs and organizing community events and fundraisers, I’m passionate about creating well-executed, engaging experiences.
Merina Fatherree
Event Assistant

I'm Merina Fatherree and have been living in the PNW most of my life! I went to school at The Evergreen State college, and while getting my bachelors discovered a passion for event running. Now I volunteer for local conventions and work with Conference Resources at the Tacoma Community College!

My name is Nate Hackett, I was born and raised in Tacoma Washington, and I study music at TCC. I love to play the Bass Guitar and nerd out about music/audio stuff. I hope the work that I do at Conference Resources will reflect my goals, values, and beliefs, and I’m really excited to see what the future has in store for me.

Campus Policies for Visitors and Events
To ensure a safe, welcoming, and compliant environment for our campus community and guests, all events must follow Tacoma Community College’s established campus policies. External clients and event organizers are responsible for reviewing the following guidelines prior to their event. These guidelines help ensure that every gathering aligns with campus standards for safety, accessibility, and community well-being.
- Acceptable Use: Client agrees to the Information Systems and Services terms of use to comply with applicable state, federal and local laws, WAC code, and College policies and procedures.
- Alcohol & Other Drugs: Client agrees to the terms listed in the Alcohol & Other Drugs Policy. TCC remains a smoke and drug-free campus.
- Animals on Campus: Client agrees to ensure all animals are attended, leashed, or properly restrained while on college premises and under the direct physical control of their owner/handler. Client agrees to dispose of all pet waste properly.
- Parking: Client recognizes and agrees to TCC’s parking & traffic regulation policies.
- Weapons: Client agrees to terms in the Weapon’s Policy. Client agrees to ensure TCC remains a weapon-free campus.
