Tacoma has committed itself to being a Welcoming City for immigrants. In line with that mission, this workshop will provide participants with the information and tools they need to describe the history of immigration in Washington, understand the political context for immigration policies, better advocate for the legal rights of immigrants, identify the resources available to serve immigrants in areas such as language, work, legal issues and social services. This workshop is for you If you are an immigrant, someone who works with immigrants and their families (such as K-12 teachers who need clock hours) Better understand your rights and the resources to access. Learn to become a better advocate for the interests of immigrants in Tacoma. 4 clock hours.
