TRA Medical Imaging Foundation Continues Investment in TCC Students
The TRA Medical Imaging Foundation has awarded $40,000 in scholarships to four first-year students enrolled in the 2026 spring cohort of Tacoma Community College’s Radiologic Technology program. The scholarships support students from communities throughout the South Sound as they prepare for careers in medical imaging.
TRA Medical Imaging’s Ongoing Support
Since launching its Education Fund in 2020, the Foundation has supported 49 imaging sciences students, including 28 alumni and 21 active scholars.
“By combining financial assistance, mentorship, career exposure, educational partnerships, and professional support, the TRA Medical Imaging Foundation helps students complete rigorous imaging sciences programs and transition into high-demand healthcare careers,” said Jeffrey Wesolowski, M.D., president of the TRA Medical Imaging Foundation Board of Directors. “Each graduate strengthens the regional workforce, improves community access to medical imaging services.”
Impact on TCC Students and Programs
Brandon Censon, Dean of TCC’s Healthcare programs, said that beyond supporting individual student success, TRA Medical Imaging Foundation’s investment helps TCC strengthen the pipeline of highly skilled imaging professionals who are prepared to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and patient-centered care to the diverse individuals and communities they will serve throughout their careers.
“We are incredibly grateful to the TRA Medical Imaging Foundation for its generous investment in the future of healthcare,” said Censon. “By helping our Imaging Sciences students, including those in Radiologic Sciences, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and Computed Tomography (CT) – overcome financial barriers, these scholarships allow students to remain focused on their education and successfully transition into the imaging workforce.”
