"A Woven Narrative of Identity" Reception April 30 at TCC Gig Harbor

“A Woven Narrative,” an exhibition of photography by Emily J. Won, is on display at TCC Gig Harbor during spring quarter. Meet the artist at the exhibition reception, Thursday, April 30, 6-8 p.m. at TCC Gig Harbor.

According to Won's artist's statement:

"A Woven Narrative of Identity traces my journey as an immigrant artist who moved from Korea to the United States in 2015. Through the study of studio art and a focus on photography, I have developed a visual language that explores memory, identity, and belonging. This body of work, presented as my sixth photobook and ninth solo exhibition, reflects years of observation and emotional exploration through the camera lens. Rather than documenting landscapes directly, I transform natural forms and fleeting moments into poetic and symbolic images. Each photograph acts as a fragment of memory within a broader narrative of migration and self-discovery. Created across Korea and the United States, these images connect past and present, homeland and new home—reflecting an ongoing search for identity and belonging."
