Community Resources
As the federal government shutdown continues, many individuals and families may experience financial hardship. Tacoma Community College (TCC) is partnering with Pierce County agencies to support our campus and local community during this time.
Below are resources available to students and employees. Some services are limited to current TCC students or employees, and others are open to everyone.
Resources for TCC Students
Food Banks and Pantries
- List of food pantries and food banks in Pierce County.
- TCC Titan Food Pantry (Building 17): Open Tues & Wed, 10:30am–12:30pm, and Thurs, 11am–4:30pm. Bring your TCC student ID. Learn more.
- Nourish Mobile Food Bank: On TCC’s Tacoma campus every Tuesday, 4:30–6:30pm, in Parking Lot F—open to everyone in the community. See other Nourish locations.
Emergency Resources
- Emergency Funding: TCC offers emergency funding for students. For details on how to submit a request, visit the Center for Student Advocacy and Cultural Center (Building 11) or view the information on this webpage.
- Workforce Resources: The TCC Workforce team maintains an updated “Important Resources for Students” webpage with information on food benefits, job search support, housing, utilities, employment assistance, and more. Workforce Education staff can also help you understand how a shutdown may affect your benefits.
- External Assistance: You may also qualify for outside resources such as United Way – Pierce County Helpline (Access Pierce).

- Counseling Support: Free, confidential counseling is available for TCC students. Learn more and schedule an appointment.

- Counseling Support: Free, confidential counseling is available through the Employee Assistance Program at https://eap.wa.gov or by calling 877-313-4455.
Support the Titan Food Pantry: Supplies are running low.
Donation drop-off locations: Building 17 (Pantry), Building 19 (Workforce), and Building 11 (Center). To make a monetary donation, select “Other” and write Food Pantry.
Support Emergency Student Funding
Emergency funding is limited due to high demand. To give, select “Other” and write Emergency Student Funding.
