Writing Synergies
Writing belongs to everyone
Building Community Through Writing Beyond the Classroom
Writing Synergies is an interactive activity series designed for TCC faculty, staff, alumni, students, and professionals interested in exploring the role of transferable skills such as writing, reading, and research led by Jasmeen Bassi-Chahal, Lindsey Stixrud, and Ken Fox.
In this shared space, we learn, engage, collaborate, share, discuss, and support one another to cultivate exceptional learning experiences for our students and the transferable skills they will carry beyond the classroom.
At its core, Writing Synergies is about cultivating a community that sees writing as a shared practice that takes shape in many forms across fields. While meaningful differences exist across disciplines, there is also powerful synergy waiting to be discovered.
Below, meet the faculty who inspired Writing Synergies and witness the synergy in action.

Writing Synergies is a podcast that explores how writing skills developed in the classroom show up in the work place. In each episode, we talk with professionals from a wide range of fields. Our guests share how the writing they once practiced as students now plays an important role in their daily work, from communicating with colleagues and clients to documenting, persuading, and solving problems. Writing Synergies highlights the powerful connections between academic writing and the skills professionals rely on every day.
