TCC Learning Plan

Information about the classroom environment for students during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic years.

What is the Learning Plan?

For the academic year of 2020-21, TCC has changed its classroom experience to offer a hybrid model of instruction. For fall, winter, spring and summer of 2020-21, most courses will be held online with an exception of labs in select classes.

Details are:

  • Online instruction will be offered for the majority of instruction.
  • Some on-campus instruction will be allowed.
  • Online and on-campus classes will be synchronously (a scheduled time) and asnycronously (on your own time).
  • Required labs will be allowed on-campus
  • New instructional modalities have been developed to increase student-faculty engagement.
  • Some critical student services (i.e. computer labs, tutoring, eLearning, library) will offer limited on-campus student support.
  • Additional technology trainings will be offered to assist students to navigate the online environment.

Learning Plan for 2021-22

TCC has built a re-opening framework that outlines how we will re-open safely and equitably for our students, staff and faculty. This framework is aligned with guidance  from the Governor's office and public health agency protocols.

Based on this framework, this is our plan for the upcoming 2021-2022 academic year:

  • Fall Quarter: About 80 percent of instructional classes will be held online. You can search for classes here. If you are interested in classes that are in-person or hybrid, view the list below. For student services, we are planning to have an on-campus presence. This is in development and we will share service schedules with you as they become available.
  • Winter Quarter: We will begin planning for instruction and student service schedules during spring quarter. Our goal is to provide more in-person instruction and services.
  • Spring Quarter: Our goal is to re-open 100 percent by spring quarter of 2022. This means all students services will be fully open and no longer remote. Instruction will be 75 percent in-person; the remaining will continue to be remote, for greater flexibility for all.

Fall 2021: In-person and hybrid classes

TCC is offering nearly 200 in-person or hybrid courses this fall. Here is a list of classes, effective April 2021. General enrollment begins May 17: Apply here. Review all of TCC’s courses under our Class Search
