Front Desk Attendant
  • Be familiar with resources offered by the BEC in order to best help students.
  • Greet and welcome students warmly and see that they receive help in a timely manner.
  • Answer telephone and address callers' needs appropriately
  • Maintain excellent communication with tutoring staff and supervisor
  • Use TutorTrac softwear in order to:
  •         Check Materials in and out for Tutors and students
  •         Work with students to schedule tutoring appointments
  • Address student issues that arise or know where to refer the student.
  • Be familiar with appropriate program(s) and TCC policies and procedures.
  • Work on program related tasks as requested by the supervisor.
  • Organize and tidy up the tutoring center as needed
  • Assist with the organization and tracking of supplies inventory


Front desk attendants support the tutoring staff and help the tutoring center run efficiently by effectively communicating with students about their needs, and directing them to the appropriate resource. Good communication between the front desk attendants and tutoring staff will ensure that every student has an equitable share in the resource offered.

Qualifications Minimum
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to promote a professional and friendly atmosphere, learn quickly, and juggle different tasks at once.
  • All applicants are subject to interview and/or assessment at supervisor's discretion.
  • Must complete the WorkStudy application packet as well as the BEC information form.

Qualifications Preferred

  • Previous office experience , including computer skills

  • Previous use of BEC
  • Previous customer service experience.
