High School Completion
High School Completion is a fast-track program where international students can work towards their High School diploma and Associate's Degree at the same time. It provides a pathway for students to save both time and money by completing their course requirements for High School and the first two years of college concurrently. The High School Completion program is a great option for students who have yet to finish High School, but want to start college early or those who do not want to spend their final year of High School studying for a National Exam.
- Must be at least 16 years of age (and under age 20)
- Have completed at least Grade 10 (Year 1 of High School) or higher in their home country
- Students are not eligible if they have already graduated from High School in their home country or in the United States
Transcript Evaluation: An International Advisor will review your High School and Grade 9 transcripts (translated into English) and determine how the courses you have already taken apply to the Washington State High School degree requirements.
Course Requirements: There are a total of 22 classes needed to receive the Washington State High School diploma. After evaluating your transcript, your International Advisor will provide you a list of your remaining courses and a pathway for completing those courses in a timely manner. The 22 classes are a combination of English, Math, History, Political Science and more.
Graduation: Upon completion of the required classes, a student will be guided through their High School Beyond Plan, a portfolio project culminating their High School coursework, and be required to sit for the ACT Plus Writing. Students must receive a minimum score of 14 in English, 16 in Math and 16 in Science (Biology). Their International Advisor will then assist them in applying for their WA State High School Diploma.
