Ways to Give

Photo of three students looking at a laptop computerThe college depends on the generosity of alumni, friends, parents, students, businesses and foundations to help provide the additional funding needed to offer continued access to higher education and high-quality educational programs.

How can I help?

The TCC Foundation is pleased to help determine the best way to meet financial needs and philanthropic goals.

TCC Foundation Annual Fund: Gifts to the TCC Foundation's Annual Fund are used to support a variety of activities, including but not limited to; Scholarships and grants, employee professional development and awards, TCC Early Learning Center, athletics and the arts among many other programs.

Endowment Funds: An endowment provides stability and flexibility for TCC to continue to advance higher education in Pierce County. With this single act of generosity, your gift will be an ongoing benefit to students. Your donation's principle contribution is invested, and the investment earnings support the programs of your choice.

Estate Planning, Planned Giving: Planned giving lets a donor arrange charitable contributions in a manner that maximizes his or her personal objectives while minimizing tax costs. The TCC Foundation offers a variety of giving opportunities on behalf of TCC in support of facilities, scholarships/grants, specific department/division projects, and unrestricted resources to foster growth and excellence. Bequests, charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts, life income gifts, life insurance, gifts of real estate or personal property, IRA beneficiary, closely held or restricted securities, mutual fund shares, gifts of appreciated securities and gifts of cash.

Gifts in Kind: Supplies, equipment or materials for the college may be donated through the TCC Foundation. Because of the complex nature of such transactions, consultation with the Foundation is strongly recommended before such a gift is made.

Matching Gifts: A matching gift program benefits both the employer and the employee. By matching employee gifts, businesses are assured that they are supporting causes important to their employees and their community. Matching gift programs are also strong employee incentives and an important boost to employee morale. An employee of a company with a matching gift program can take advantage of the program and double, triple, or even quadruple gifts to the TCC Foundation. Contact your employer's human resources or personnel to see if your employer will match your gift.

Scholarship/Grant Assistance: Providing scholarship/grant assistance is an important way for donors to work with the college to help the area's next generation of community leaders, nurses, paralegals, transfer students and members of the community to define, refine and enhance their skills.

Supplemental/Emergency Assistance: Emergency funds are need-based and intended for currently enrolled students faced with emergency situations. An emergency is defined as a financial need created by an unexpected event for which a student requires financial assistance or would be unable to remain at TCC. Emergency funds can make a world of difference to a deserving student who is on the verge of dropping out due to unforeseen circumstances.

Tribute or Memorial Gifts: Use the occasion of a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion to share your love for education with a tribute or memorial gift. Recently, members of TCC's faculty have been memorialized through named scholarships.

Buy a Brick: If you have been a TCC student, instructor, employee or have otherwise been touched by TCC, you know what it means to own your future... now you can own a piece of TCC as well! Purchase and personalize your own brick along TCC’s College Lane, and permanently commemorate a success, honor a loved one, recognize an organization or make a statement.

Complete the Buy-A-Brick Form and pay online.

Proceeds benefit the TCC Foundation, Classified Staff Professional Development and various Foundation supported efforts, including: Student Scholarships & Grants, Library & Learning Resources, International Programs, Employee Professional Development & Awards, the Children’s Center, Academic and Student Programs, Athletic Activities, Arts Programs, and Literacy and Development Education.
