Tuesday, July 22, 2014 – Gig Harbor artist Carol Ann Johnson's show “Variety is the Spice of Life… and ART” will be on display in the Gig Harbor Campus through Sept. 22, 2014.

The show features a wide variety of media and subjects, displaying acrylic painting, watercolor, pastel, colored pencil, illustration, pen and ink, and etchings. Subject matter includes landscape, still life, portraits, and figures.

Johnson grew up on the East Coast and received her BFA in Printmaking from Syracuse University. She spent 25 years in Hawaii, working as a printmaker, commercial artist, and school artist in residence. A children’s book publisher and illustrator, she enjoys talking to students about writing and art.

Johnson currently lives in Gig Harbor. She is a member and former president of the Peninsula Art League, and her studio is part of this fall's Gig Harbor’s Open Studio Tour.
