MLA Style

The following are examples for citing TCC's electronic resources (and a few harder-to-find web site examples) in a list of works cited. See the "Humanities" section of Research and Documentation Online for examples of all kinds, as well as advice on proper form for "in text citations." Note: Neither the "hanging" paragraph style or the underlining of titles (italics are used instead) can be shown on this web page.   • Web Site: one "publication"of many on a site. No author
  • Rule: "Title of specific section or page." Title of web site. Publication or last updated date. Date material was viewed/retrieved. <URL>.
  • Example: "Avoiding Plagiarism." The Tacoma Community College Library. 02 Feb. 2006. 15 Mar. 2006 <http://www.tacomacc.edu/library/plagiarism.aspx>.
    Government document from a government web site
  • Rule: authoring government agency in hierarchical order. Title of document. Date of publication. Date document was viewed/retrieved. <URL>.
  • Example: United States. Department of Education. National Center for Education Statistics. The Nation's Report Card. 26 Sept. 2000. 12 Dec. 2000. <http://nces.ed.gov/nationsreportcard/site/home.asp>.
