Greetings from the Study Abroad Advisor!
This message is for all students interested in studying abroad during the 2010-2011 school year. My office is located in the international office-building 11-2nd floor. Summer 2010: Cusco, Peru

Cuzco, Peru
Peru is one of the most amazing countries in which to study abroad! It is the land of the Incas, Machu Picchu, and our first WCCCSA country in South America. Peru is home to one of the oldest civilizations in the world, the Norte Chico, and is today one of the most popular destinations in South America. It has a very diverse geography as well as a variety of music, food, art, and cuisines.

Fall 2010: Atsugi, Japan

Japan offers a rich environment of arts, culture and history where centuries-old traditions exist in contrast with ultra-modern life-styles. What will you find in Tokyo? Sumo wrestling, Kabuki Theater, ancient castles and temples dating back to the days of the Samurai warriors? Yes, but how about some trendy (wild and crazy?) Tokyo street fashions in the Harajuku district, the latest in high technology, electronics and gadgetry, anime, and a city that never sleeps? Tokyo has many faces and each neighborhood is unique and has its own distinct character. From the elegant Ginza shopping district, historical Asakusa, to the trend-setting Harajuku and Shinjuku wards, the fascination is endless.
WCCCSA applications must be handed in to the TCC Study Abroad Coordinator no later than June 24, 2010 for approval before students submit application and deposit to AIFS.

Fall 2010: London, England

London, England
Loved and respected for its architecture, theatres, museums, galleries and academic institutions, London has something for everyone. Along with earning a full quarter of transferable college credits, students live with British families and immerse themselves in day to day British Life. Frequent field trips and travel opportunities enable students to experience the culture and history of this great city as well as the beautiful countryside of England. The teaching team tailors courses to the European environment and structures the coursework around several themes common to the locale.
WCCCSA applications must be handed in to the TCC Study Abroad Coordinator no later than June 15, 2010 for approval before students submit application and deposit to AIFS.

Spring 2011: Florence, Italy

Florence, Italy is renowned throughout the world for its art, history and beautiful landscape. Florence lies like a jewel in the heart of Tuscany, compact and teeming with piazzas, palaces, churches, museums and markets. Here, in the center of Italy, you will walk in the footsteps of Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Donatello, Botticelli, Brunelleschi, Petrarch and Dante.

Financial Aid may be used to cover the cost of tuition, and scholarships are available. I encourage looking into study abroad resources sooner rather than later as many scholarship deadlines for 2009-2010 are during the summer months. (The Writing & Tutoring Center in Building 7 is more than happy to provide assistance in proofing scholarship essays. Remember to plan ahead: please don't wait until the scholarship or program deadline to make an appointment.) Please remember that scholarships do not necessarily need to state study abroad as their purpose in order to benefit this goal.

As always, brochures and applications, as well as scholarship information, are available in the International Student Services and Programs Office. Please contact me if you have any questions. I am more than happy to help students learn how to research other opportunities as well.
Thank you for your interest in study abroad!
