Medical Insurance

The US government requires that all international students studying in the US have adequate medical insurance coverage. TCC offers an insurance package specially designed for our international students.

Medical Insurance Policy

Starting Fall 2015 all TCC international students will be required to purchase medical insurance through Firebird.

Please do NOT buy health insurance coverage from your home country because it will not be accepted by TCC.  If you have coverage from home, you will still be required to purchase Firebird insurance.

Why is health insurance mandatory?  The cost of healthcare in the United States is extremely high. You must have medical insurance to protect yourself from these high costs. In the U.S., individuals are responsible for all costs, including:

  • Doctor appointments
  • Dental appointments
  • Vision care
  • Hospital care
  • Emergency care
  • Prescription medications
