Learning Comes First at TCC
At Tacoma Community College (TCC), you will learn English, earn the first 2 years of your American bachelor’s degree from a fully-accredited 2-year college, and maybe even finish a certificate program at the same time. TCC graduates successfully transfer to famous universities all over the United States.

Worried about costs? Attending TCC for your start in college is an affordable alternative to paying tuition at a four-year institution. The cost to attend TCC for 1 year is approximately $15,000, compared to over $31,000 at a 4-year public university or $50,000 at a private university.

There’s lots of life outside the classroom. Student clubs, varsity and intramural sports, student government, the school newspaper and numerous community service projects provide plenty of opportunities for involvement.

By the Numbers
TCC was founded in 1965 and has a student body of 8,000 to 9,000 total students. Over 230 international students attend the college each quarter from over 25 different countries. 

About Tacoma
With a population of 200,000, Tacoma is the third largest city in Washington State and a major international port. It is located on Puget Sound, 56 kilometers (35 miles) south of Seattle, and 45 kilometers (25 miles) from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The city offers many cultural and recreational opportunities for its residents, including theaters, museums, opera, professional sports, parks, and beaches. The temperate climate and friendly atmosphere make Tacoma an ideal location in which to live and study.
