Dancing in Jaffa
(Opening gala to follow)

After decades of bloodshed, it's hard to imagine what can bridge the divide between Israeli Jews and Palestinians. Pierre Dulaine has an idea - dance. He begins teaching ballroom dancing in Jaffa at the city's mostly segregated schools. His ultimate goal is to get the kids from the Jewish schools to dance with those from the Arab school for a big competition.

Selma

David Oyelowo stars as Martin Luther King Jr. in this historical drama set during the height of the 1960's civil rights movement. It depicts the poignant struggle and marches from Selma, Alabama to Montgomery to secure voting rights for African Americans.

Little Tin Man

Tired of being overlooked for bigger roles, a struggling dwarf actor sets out to be cast as the Tin Man in Martin Scorsese's remake of The Wizard of Oz. Through both humor and human insight, this film explores an individual's relentlessness not to accept the status quo.

Alive Inside

This emotional documentary follows Dan Cohen, a social worker, as he tenaciously fights a broken healthcare system. Through phenomenal footage of actual Alzheimers' patients, he proves the powerful effect of music in combating memory loss and resotring dignity and a sense of self.
