Subject: iPad, iPhones Password Notification
As some of you have long term mobile devices (iPad or iPhones) checked out from various departments on campus, we need to inform you of required changes to the Passcode Security of your device. If your device currently only has a 4 or 5 digit code to unlock it, that will be changed to the following:
- Be a minimum of six alpha numeric characters.
- Contain at least three unique character classes. Pass codes consisting of 11111a, aaaaa4, are not acceptable. We require at least one letter, one number, and one complex character. For example: 4Hobbits! #3Wizards 50%Human
- Not contain more than a three consecutive character run. Pass codes consisting of 12345a, abcde1 are not acceptable.
- Render the device unusable after 10 failed login attempts.
Once the policy is active Wednesday the 31st of October at 9 AM , within 60 minutes you will get a notification that you must change your passcode.
