Upgrade to the telephone system

What is happening:  An upgrade to the campus telephone system, Mitel/ShoreTel, affecting the Tacoma and Gig Harbor Campuses

 

When:  Saturday March 24th starting at 2 PM, this will take 8 to 9 hours to complete

 

What is affected:  The phone system and any computers connected to the network through the phone will be down until the upgrade is completed. 

  • Lab computers and classroom computers that are connected directly to the campus network will NOT be affected. 
  • Wireless will NOT be affected. 
  • During this time the extension for campus security will not be functioning.  If you need to contact security please call:  253-495-4146 

 

For staff and faculty that use it, the optional ShoreTel Communicator software will need to be upgraded to the new Mitel/ShoreTel Connect software after the phone system upgrade is complete. The timing of the software upgrade is not critical—you will be able to use the phone and retrieve voicemail without the software.  Here is a link to the Quick Guide for the new Connect software.  Once we have the access to the download of the new software, we will provide a guide that will walk you through the upgrade and use of it.  Stay tuned!
