2008 Graduation & Commencement Checklist
Applying to Graduate
Students must have completed the degree requirements for 2007-08 school years. (Summer 2007 through Spring 2008)
Meet with advisor to review degree requirements & complete
degree application
.
Submit completed degree application to cashier with fee.
Deadline for Spring graduates is May 16
th
.
Commencement
Saturday,
June 14
th
at 10:00 a.m.
at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall. Speaker is Eric Liu, author of
Guiding Lights: How to Mentor – and Finding Life’s Purpose.
Information will be mailed to graduates in early May.
Graduates attending Commencement must return confirmation letter by June 6
th
.
No tickets are required to attend Commencement.
For accommodations due to a disability contact: Kathryn Held at 253.566.5328.
Graduates who attend Commencement will be presented with a diploma cover. For those not planning to attend to Commencement, a diploma cover may be purchased at the Bookstore.
Cap, Gown, Tassels
Graduation packages will be available for purchase in the TCC Bookstore beginning in mid-May.
Purchase cap, gown and tassel at the TCC Bookstore. Cost: $32.99 (plus tax).
Purchase honor cord at the TCC Bookstore. Cost: $9.99 (plus tax). Note: If you are a financial aid recipient and cannot afford the cost of a cap and gown or honor cord, please come to the Student Life Office, Bldg. 11 for assistance.
Announcements can be purchased at TCC bookstore for $1.25 each. (plus tax).
Graduates can purchase portrait packages provided by Darel Roa photography. Please open
attached file
for more details. Call Darel Roa Photography at 253.848.6463.
Early Commencement
To qualify for early commencement a student must be within 1 course of graduating and be registered in that class for summer quarter 2008.
If approved, student will be able to participate in Commencement on June 14th.
Early Commencement packets will be available beginning May 12
th
at the Enrollment Services Office, Bldg. 7.
Completed Early Commencement packets must be submitted to the Registration Office, Bldg. 7, by May 30.
