This is a new position with specific responsibilities related to the creation of the College Archives.  In 2012, the College established a repository to collect and conserve the materials which represent the institutional memory and the unique information resources of the College. By chronicling the College’s evolution and providing access to materials of lasting value, the project provides evidence of transactions and decisions key to the College’s development, materials which define and enhance the image of the college, and materials and memorabilia which support interaction with alumni, donors and community members.

The TCC Archive collects, processes, promotes and provides access to archival material from a variety sources. We are in the process of planning for a digital repository for selected materials and a website to make the collection publicly accessible.

Work study students will work under the direction of the archivist, based in the Library, and will be involved in conducting a basic inventory of archived materials; organizing and indexing documents and photos that chronicle the college’s history; scanning and digitizing selected materials; and other duties as assigned. Training will be provided.

It is helpful if the successful applicant can work hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays during Fall Quarter.
