College in the High School

What is the "College in the High School" (CitHS) Program?

Tacoma Community College's College in the High School Program is a cooperative program between local school districts and TCC.

The program allows high school students the opportunity to earn college credit while simultaneously earning high school credit for approved high school courses.

Courses are taught by qualifying high school teachers who work closely with TCC faculty mentors to ensure that the work in the high school course is equivalent to a course taught on the college campus.

How Students Benefit from the Program:

Students can accelerate their academic studies by earning college credit.

Students are able to engage in college level work without sacrificing their high school expereince.

Most courses offered are transferable to Washington's community colleges and public universities.

Tuition is approximately 45% less than an equivalent TCC course and reduced tuition costs are available to students receiving Free and Reduced Price Lunch benefits.

Applications are currently closed and will reopen in the fall.
