Housing

Tacoma Community College and Tacoma Housing Authority have formed a partnership to provide rental assistance to TCC students who are homeless or almost homeless.  This project is called the College Housing Assistance Program.  TCCs open application period for this project is every Spring and Fall Quarter.  If voucher are available, they will be awarded during the open application period and if no vouchers are available, a waitlist will be started.   

Who?

If you are homeless or at serious risk of homelessness please consider applying.

Basic Eligibility

  • Enrolled in 12 developmental and/or college level credits at TCC
  • Have completed a FAFSA
  • Not below a 2.0 GPA
  • (Please note that there are other eligibility criteria set forth by the Tacoma Housing Authority)

When?

Every Spring and Fall quarter.

Applications?

An application is attached, and/or you can pick up a hard copy at the front counter of the Advising and Counseling Center (Bldg 7).

Please note that applications must be completed at time of submittal.  Incomplete applications WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Notifications/Updates

Review of application and notification of application status will occur approximately 2-3 weeks after applications are accepted.

If you are experiencing an immediate housing crisis, Access Point 4 Housing may be a good resource. This program is one that is run by Associated Ministries. It offers a central point of entry for household experiencing homeless or those that will be homeless in 72 hours. Please feel free to call them at 253.682.3401 or visit their website.
