ATI Mobility Exam

LPN Placement

LPN placement in the nursing program is based upon knowledge of care for the childbearing family. This content is taught in Level 2 and 3 of the ADN program. Competency in this subject material is measured by the ATI Mobility Examination.

Applicants to the LPN to RN program take the ATI Mobility Exam. Two sections can be tested to measure competency: the “RN Maternal-Newborn Nursing Care” and “RN Nursing Care of Children.” (NOTE: This is not the same as the “PN Maternal-Newborn Nursing Care” and “PN Nursing Care of Children”.)

If the applicant surpasses the cut score (60%) for RN Maternal-Newborn Nursing Care” the applicant qualifies to apply to the part-time Level 3 program, which begins each winter quarter.

If the applicant surpasses the cut score (60%) for RN Maternal-Newborn Nursing Care” AND “RN Nursing Care of Children” the applicant qualifies to apply to the full-time Level 4 program, which begins winter and summer quarters.

If the student exam scores are below the cut score, the applicant will not be eligible for entry. The exam may be repeated only once in a three year period.

Prerequisite courses do not have to be completed prior to taking the ATI Mobility Examination, but do have to be complete prior to the application deadline. ATI Mobility Exam results will be uploaded during the online application process.
