Commencement Information

Onward & Upward!

Congratulations on all you've learned and thank you for all you've brought to our TCC Community! Now we're ready to celebrate your big day with you... here are the details!

Applying to Graduate: Students must have completed the degree requirements for 2012-2013 school years (Summer 2012 through Spring 2013).

• Meet with advisor to review degree requirements and complete the degree application or certificate application.
• Submit completed degree application to cashier with fee.
• Degree application deadline for Spring graduates: May 1.

Cap, Gown, Tassels

• Graduation packages (cap, tassel, gown) will be available for purchase in the TCC Bookstore beginning May 28.
  Cost: $35.99 (plus tax)
• Purchase honor cord at the TCC Bookstore.
  Cost: Honor - $5.99, High Honor - $10.99
• Announcements can be purchased at the TCC bookstore.
• If you are a financial aid recipient and cannot afford the cost of a cap and gown, please come to the Student Life Office, Bldg. 11, for assistance.

Commencement

Spring 2013 Commencement

• Information will be emailed to TCC student emails and mailed to graduates mid-May. 
• No tickets are required to attend Commencement.  
• For accommodations due to a disability contact Kathryn Held at 253.566.5328.
• Graduates who attend Commencement will be presented with a diploma cover. For those not planning to attend Commencement, a diploma cover may be purchased at the Bookstore.
• The ceremony will be live video streamed on our website on Titan TV.

Early Commencement

• To qualify for early commencement a student must be within 2 courses of graduating and be registered in those classes for summer quarter 2013. 
• If approved, student will be able to participate in Commencement.
• Early Commencement packets will be available May 9 at the Enrollment Services Office, Bldg. 7.
• Completed Early Commencement packets must be submitted to the Enrollment Services Office, Bldg. 7. by May 22.

 Photography

• Graduates can purchase portrait packages provided by Darel Roa Photography. For more details call Darel Roa Photography at 253.848.6463.
• Appointments can be made for Cap & Gown portraits prior to commencement in the Greater Tacoma Convention Center.
• Commencement candids will also be captured as you cross the stage.
