Assess your skills in English and math -- take the ACCUPLACER™.

Another test? Well, not really. Your results on the ACCUPLACER™ Online Assessment are a guide to the best place to begin your program of study at TCC.

Is the test timed? Don't worry. The test is not timed. It takes an average of an hour and a half to take all 3 parts. You may also take 1 part at a time. So relax and take your time.

  • Prepare in advance -- attend a free ACCUPLACER™ Prep workshop
  • Study up! Use the Review Guides (in math, reading and sentence skills) to prepare you for your assessment test sections.
  • Brush up on your skills with the ACCUPLACER™ study app
  • Check in advance for dates and times you can take the test.
  • Pay before you arrive for testing.
  • Take the test (given at TCC in Bldg. 7). ID and proof of payment required.

We have 24 computers -- so space is limited. During peak times the wait can be up to an hour. We want to make sure you have time to complete the test. In these peak times testing can cut off before the ending time of 4 p.m.

EXCEPTIONS:
June 10-14: No testing the week of Finals
June 6: Start at 1 p.m.
June 18: Start at 1 p.m.
June 20: Start at 1 p.m.

Testing is closed from July 1 through July 12. Testing will resume for Fall Quarter July 16.

ACCUPLACER™ Study App

If you have an iPod, iPad or iPhone you can purchase the ACCUPLACER™ app exclusively through Apple's iTunes Store. For only $1.99, students can brush up on their skills and become familiar with the style and content of questions asked on an ACCUPLACER™ test.

Testing Fees

The $18 ACCUPLACER™ testing fee must be paid before you arrive for testing. You can pay:

  • online
  • by telephone 253.566.5011
  • in person at the Cashier's Office, Bldg. 14.

Running Start students must pay the $18 fee. Fresh Start, Worker Retraining, First Generation and Achiever Scholars receive waivers for the ACCUPLACER™ test.

The Cashier's Office accepts cash, check, money order or major credit cards. Office hours:

  • Monday and Tuesday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Wednesday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Relax! ACCUPLACER™ was designed to help you succeed in college.

  • Get enough rest the night before.
  • Eat a light meal in advance of testing.
  • Stay alert.
  • Read each question carefully before answering.
