TCC's Certification & Testing Center is open to the community and general public. We provide a comfortable testing environment in a state of the art facility. We have everything you need to take the next step in your education and career.

GED Test

All GED tests are now computer-based. To register and make appointments go to: www.ged.com or call 1.877.392.6433 for information on computer-based testing through Pearson Vue.

We are an authorized testing center for:

All testing done by appointment only!

Prepare Materials:

  • Test candidates for proctored tests should contact the Certification & Testing Center in advance of the desired test date to provide materials required for the test.
  • Proctor fee payment can be made at the Cashier's office in Bldg. 14, or by telephone at 253.566.6084. Proctor fee is $35 for non-TCC students who take online classes at other colleges/universities, $30 for TAXI Exams, $30 for Certiport, and $25 for typing tests.

We are not responsible for over-nighting exams.

Testing Hours:

Tuesday-Friday: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

We may close early if all appointments are completed for the day

You will be required to have a parking pass to park on campus. Please email tcenter@tacomacc.edu to request a temporary parking pass.

Certification & Testing Center Policies and Procedures

  • All candidates must provide valid ID to test.
  • Lockers are provided for you to place all personal items and items that are not allowed.

Items that are not allowed and we require to be placed in a locker:

  • Hats and any other headgear. Religious headgear will be inspected by proctor before the candidate is permitted to enter the test room
  • Cell phones
  • All electronic devices unless otherwise noted in the proctor instructions
  • Wallet
  • Keys
  • Purses
  • Back-packs
  • Laptops
  • Gum, candy and any other food or beverage items 
  • Mechanical or personal writing instruments
  • All other items not allowed and noted on the proctor instructions form

These rules allow us to remain in compliance with the test company contracts we have signed and agreed to as certified proctors. We offer the same level of service to all test candidates.
