2010 Graduation & Commencement Checklist

Applying to Graduate

• Students must have completed the degree requirements for 2009-10 school years. (Summer 2009 through Spring 2010)
• Meet with advisor to review degree requirements & complete degree application.
• Submit completed degree application to cashier with fee.
• Deadline for Spring graduates is May 7^th.

Commencement

• Thursday, June 10^th at 7:00 p.m. at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall.
• Information will be mailed to graduates in early May. 
• Graduates attending Commencement must return confirmation letter by June 4^th.
• No tickets are required to attend Commencement.  
• For accommodations due to a disability contact:  Kathryn Held at 253.566.5328.
• Graduates who attend Commencement will be presented with a diploma cover. For those not planning to attend to Commencement, a diploma cover may be purchased at the Bookstore.  

Cap, Gown, Tassels

• Graduation packages will be available for purchase in the TCC Bookstore beginning May 24th.
• Purchase cap, gown and tassel at the TCC Bookstore. Cost: $34.99 (plus tax).
• Purchase honor cord at the TCC Bookstore. Cost: $9.99 (plus tax). Note: If you are a financial aid recipient and cannot afford the cost of a cap and gown, please come to the Student Life Office, Bldg. 11 for assistance.
• Announcements can be purchased at TCC bookstore for $1.50 each. (plus tax).
• Graduates can purchase portrait packages provided by Darel Roa photography. Please open attached file for more details or call Darel Roa Photography at 253.848.6463.

Early Commencement

• To qualify for early commencement a student must be within 1 course of graduating and be registered in that class for summer quarter 2010. 
• If approved, student will be able to participate in Commencement on June 10th.
• Early Commencement packets will be available beginning May 12^th at the Enrollment Services Office, Bldg. 7.
• Completed Early Commencement packets must be submitted to the Enrollment Services Office, Bldg. 7, by May 28th.

Photography

• Photos will be available from Darel Roa Photography.
  
• Appointments can be made for Cap & Gown portraits prior to commencement in the entrance of the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall
  
• Commencement Candid’s will also be captured as you cross the stage
