The Titans (5-4, 1-0) played at home for the first time this season on Saturday.  The outcome was a 65 -61 victory over Pierce (5-8, 1-1).

TCC controlled the first half and went into halftime up 37- 26.  The titans came out in the second half and built a lead of 18 points behind the guard play of Anngelina Sanchez.  Sanchez had 11 of her 16 points in the first six minutes of the second half. 

Freshman Alexus Grant had a solid performance leading the Titans with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 7 steals. 

Pierce cut the lead to four points following a 4 point play, which included a made 3 pointer and a free throw.

Former Seattle U Coach Dan Kriley to lead TCC Women's Basketball

Former Seattle University Head Women's Basketball coach Dan Kriley has been hired as the new Women's Head basketball coach/Academic Advisor at Tacoma Community College. Kriley who was 77-59 in 5 years as Head Coach at Seattle U. replaces Heidi Collier who resigned last month to pursue a graduate degree at Utah. Collier led the Titans to 3 straight NWAACC Tournament appearances from 2010-13. The Titans had only had 4 postseason appearances prior to 2010.
Kriley had 2 of the top 5 single season win totals in SU history winning 18 games in 2006-07 while winning 20 games and reaching postseason in his final season of 2008-09. Kriley was also the assistant Women's coach for 6 years at Seattle U and also coached the Pierce College Men from 1996-99. " We are extremely excited to be able to hire a coach with Dan's experience, He brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record as a Head Coach while also having advising experience during his tenure at Pierce" said TCC Director of Athletics Carl Howell
"I am very excited about the opportunity to lead the Women's Basketball program at TCC. The unyielding support and athletic success at TCC recently made this position very attractive." I fully intend to build on the recent accomplishments of the Women's program and ultimately guide them to a championship.""It feels great to be back in the NWAACC and competing with old friends" Stated Kriley.
The Lady Titan's open the 2013-14 season on Wednesday December 4th at Olympic College.
