Edge of your seat thriller against Highline
By Ricardo Campbell of the TCC Challenge

Saturday afternoon brought a suspenseful back and forth game for the Lady Titans.

With nine lead changes and seven ties, it was like watching a movie that you couldn't figure out the ending to. Unfortunately for the Titans, it ended with a one point loss. The Highline Thunderbirds were able to knock down their free throws at the end of the game to steal the win 56-55.

The Lady Titans found themselves in foul trouble early in the first half, leaving Highline the opportunity to make some free throws. Trying to stay even with the Thunderbirds proved tough, but the ladies were able to catch up at the start of the second half. Tacoma's Sarah Quantz led the team with 20 points and made some key three-point shots to help eventually take the lead. Both teams went scoreless for nearly three minutes and then they started swapping leads for a grueling five minutes. Finding themselves down 56-55 with 1.3 seconds left on the clock, the Lady Titans had a chance to inbound the ball for a hail Mary, but it wouldn't go.

Both teams played a passionate game. It was apparent both wanted to win, and it came down to the final seconds. Unfortunately, only one team can win and it just wasn't Tacoma's day.

With two more games left, the Lady Titans are hoping to improve to a 12-13 record for the season. Come see the last home game against South Puget Sound on Saturday, February 27th at 3:00pm.
