The Titans (5-4, 1-0) played at home for the first time this season on Saturday.  The outcome was a 65 -61 victory over Pierce (5-8, 1-1).

TCC controlled the first half and went into halftime up 37- 26.  The titans came out in the second half and built a lead of 18 points behind the guard play of Anngelina Sanchez.  Sanchez had 11 of her 16 points in the first six minutes of the second half. 

Freshman Alexus Grant had a solid performance leading the Titans with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 7 steals. 

Pierce cut the lead to four points following a 4 point play, which included a made 3 pointer and a free throw.

Women's Basketball defeats Kwantlen University in Home Opener

The TCC women's basketball team opened their 2009-10 season with a win over Kwantlen University College on Saturday night 72-63.

Elaina Trammell came off the bench to score 29 points, grab 8 rebounds, and 8 steals.

Sophomore Kalasa Taumaletia had 16 points and was 6 for 12 from the floor. She also added 8 rebounds. Freshman Sarah Quantz added 13 points. "I am very pleased with the effort the girls showed tonight." said Head Coach Heidi Collier.

The Titans take to the road over the next few weeks playing in several tournaments. Their next game is at the Pierce College Tournament December 11th vs Lane CC at 2:00.
