Tacoma's Heated Victory Over Olympic

Tacoma's Heated Victory Over Olympic imagePosted: 10/21/2010 2:43:00 PM

Story by Nicholas Broadbent-TCC Challenge. Wednesdays' game for men's soccer was an interesting one. The first half started out strong for Tacoma as Matthew Parrish scores a point from an assist from Alex Vaver at the 5 minute mark.

Both teams did their best to put more points on the board, but neither team was able to pull in anymore points during the first half. The second half was a lagging half for both teams. Tacoma and Olympic both attempted many times to put more points up, but came short of the goal. However Olympic did come close to scoring about half way through the second half, but Tacoma's Russell Hippensteal was able to make two outstanding head butt blocks back to back. As the game clock was winding down the game broke out in a heated brawl between the two teams. The refs and coaches were able to separate the teams and the game continued on. Within the last two minutes of the game Olympic made a goal that did not count due to a call of illegal goal. The goal did not count because the Olympic player that throw the ball in from the sideline was the only Olympic player to touch the ball prior to the ball entering the goal. The rules state that a goal made from a sideline throw in must be kicked or headed into the goal by a member of that team, therefore making that goal an illegal goal. The game ended with Tacoma 1 Olympic 0. Two yellow cards were played during the game one against Olympic player Paul Brumm. The other yellow card was against Olympic player Thomas Bryan. Also one red card was played against Olympic player Eric Trogdon.
