McLaughlin's 3 lifts #3 Titans over Gators in Regular season final

markdemetriusdomThe TCC Men's Basketball team beat Green River on a Mark McLaughlin 3 pointer with 1.8 seconds to go avoid an upset in Auburn Saturday night. With the score tied at 78 the Nation's leading scorer McLaughlin drove down the court and hit a contested 3 pointer to give the Titans the win. Green River's Emmanuel Carter heaved a half court shot the fell short as the game ended.

The 3rd ranked Titans (14-2) (22-5) led the Gators ( 7-9) (13-4) by as many as 15 points before the Gators hit a barrage of 3 pointers late in the game. The Titans were led by McLaughlin's game high 27 points & 9 rebounds. Demetrius Smith added 19 points including 10 straight points late in the 2nd half, Dom Williams added 16. Damani Coley added 4 points, 9 rebounds & 4 blocks. Nate Walker the Titan's 2nd leading scorer who battled foul trouble all night had a season low 4 points & 6 rebounds.

The Titans who finished 14-2 in region, have had a 58-6 record in league play under Head Coach Carl Howell since his return to the helm after a 5 year stint at Eastern Washington University.

The Titans return to action at 8:00am vs Walla Walla on March 3rd in the first round of the NWAACC Tournament in the Toyota Center in Kennewick.
