#6 ranked Titans "D" comes up big in 79-62 win at Pierce

The TCC Men's Basketball team held Pierce College to just 19 first half points and 19% field goal shooting on their way to a 79-62 road win to begin NWAACC Western Region play.

The Titans (1-0) (9-3) jumped out to a 17-2 lead over the Raiders (1-1) (9-4) and went into the half with a 40-19 lead. The Titans held the Raiders to a season low 28.9% field goal shooting and lead by as many as 25 points 78-53 with under 5 minutes to go.

The Titans were once again led by Mark Mclaughlin with 21 points, Demetrius Smith added 18 and both Nate Walker & Damani Cooley recorded double doubles. Walker had 13 & 13 rebounds while Colley added 10 points & 10 rebounds. Mclaughlin also added 8 rebounds & a game high 6 assists. The game also marked the return of guard Josh Lord who had missed the last 3 weeks due to a leg injury. Lord had 6 points in 20 minutes.

The Titans return to action on Monday hosting Grays Harbor at 8:00pm.
