Current Central Washington University & former TCC Basketball player Kevin Davis was selected as the GNAC player of the week.

Davis had 47 points, 30 rebounds, 11 blocks and eight steals as the Wildcats enjoyed a 2-1 record, including a victory over then-10th-ranked Rollins College (Fla.). The 6-foot-9 forward/center recorded double-doubles against Dominican (14 points, 10 rebounds) and Alabama-Huntsville (21 points, 14 rebounds), his fourth and fifth of the season, which leads the GNAC and is eighth-best in the nation.

Davis also leads the conference in blocked shots with 3.3 per game, in rebounding with 9.5 per game, and in field goal percentage at 60.2 percent. His blocks-per-game average ranks sixth in the nation and puts him on pace to block 85 shots through the regular season -- a total that would rank him 10th on the Wildcats' career list after just one season.

Sharing the player of the week honors with Davis is Zach Henefin of Western Washington University.

The Wildcats' next games following the holiday break will be Dec. 29 and 31 at Alaska Anchorage and Alaska Fairbanks, respectively. CWU returns home to Nicholson Pavilion on Jan. 7, 2012, for a 7 p.m. game versus Northwest Nazarene.
