Tacoma Community College Head Baseball Coach Ryan Mummert has announced the signings of 13 high school seniors and a transfer who will join the Titans for the 2013 season.

"I thought we did a great job filling our needs for this coming year," stated Coach Mummert. "After losing 3 of our 4 starting pitchers from last year we wanted to address our pitching depth. I am extremely excited with the arms we have coming in. This recruiting class allows us to continue to build this program up and compete at a high level."

Patrick Bernard, RHP/3B (Edmonds, WA / Edmonds-Woodway HS)
"Patrick comes from great tradition at Edmonds-Woodway HS and we are excited about his potential. His fastball sits mid to upper 80's with clean mechanics and has command of the secondary pitches. He is a workhorse on the mound and will eat up innings for us."

Quinn Eldridge, RHP (Chimacum, WA / Chimacum HS)
"We are excited about Quinn. His fastball sits in the mid 80's with a big time curveball and a polished change up. He has tremendous command of all his pitches and because of his great work ethic, he just continues to improve every time we see him."

Joey Gamache, LHP/1B (Bonney Lake, WA / Bonney Lake HS)
"Our first commitment this past year, Joey is a tall projectable left handed pitcher. His fastball sits in the low to mid 80's, but is likely to increase with time in the weight room. Joey is also one of the top hitters in the south sound and will do both for us."

Mike Gould, RHP (Bonney Lake, WA / Bonney Lake HS)
"A high school teammate of Gamache, Mike has a lot of upside. He has not been pitching consistently for very long now, but his fastball is in the mid 80's with little effort. I think with time in the weight room and a couple mechanical changes, Mike can really make a jump.

Joe Greaney, C/INF (Kent, WA / Kennedy Catholic HS)
"Joe is a big, strong kid that gives us lots of options with his versatility. His ability to catch or play almost any infield position, allowing us to move him around to get the best players on the field. He shows a strong arm and a chance to hit at the next level.

Buck Hale, LHP (Vancouver, WA / Hudson's Bay HS)
"Buck has a loose arm running his fastball in to the mid 80's. He has a good feel for the secondary pitches and with his easy effort, should see his velocity increase. We are expecting him to contribute early whether it's in the bullpen or rotation."

CJ Hicks, INF (Seattle, WA / Chief Sealth HS)
"CJ possesses a passion for the game and fills a huge need for us in this recruiting class. He is athletic with a great skill set who will benefit greatly from a couple years in the weight room. CJ will compete right away for playing time."

Austin Johnson, OF (Lynnwood, WA / Mountlake Terrace HS)
"When you see Austin you notice he's put together physically. He shows great arm strength and has the ability to play all three outfield positions with great pop in the bat. Austin gives us great depth in the outfield and will challenge for playing time early."

Ryota Koiwai, RHP (Japan)
"Ryota is different than any other arm we have. A true submarine pitcher, his fast sits in the low 80's with big time movement along with a tremendous change up and slider. With his great work ethic, the future looks bright for Ryota."

Mitch McQueen, RHP (Auburn, WA / Thomas Jefferson HS/Washington State University)
"Mitch is a kid we recruited out of high school so we were very familiar with him when he decided to transfer. A true power arm with his fastball in the upper 80's, Mitch is coming in with the determination to get back to the next level. If the secondary pitches improve, he will have some good options."

Joel Moore, INF/RHP (Orting, WA / Orting HS)
"When I went to see Joel play this past year, he had one of the better games I've seen a player have all year. His fastball was in the mid to upper 80's with a very projectable slider and if that wasn't enough he hit 2 homeruns to go with it. He's a great athlete that will play infield and pitch for us."

JJ Pino, OF (Mt Vernon, WA / Mt Vernon HS)
"JJ is a kid we saw late this summer and he has all the physical tools that you look for in a player. He is good runner with plus arm strength and he is only going to continue to get better. We are excited to watch JJ progress."

Jonathan Reece, C/INF (Oregon City, OR / Oregon City HS)
"Another guy we signed late, Jon brings a different element to our catching situation with his left handed bat. He shows great work ethic and a willingness to learn. Jon can also play the infield, allowing him to help our club in a variety of ways."

Trevor Taylor, RHP (North Bend, WA / Mt Si HS)
"Trevor was overshadowed a bit with 2 other D1 arms on his high school team, but we expect big things from him. He has a live arm running his fastball in to the upper 80's and a good feel for the change up. If he continues to develop the slider, Trevor will have a great future. Should contribute early."

The Titans open up Fall Practices starting on September 17th.
