After defeating Preseason #1 Bellevue in the season opener, the Titans traveled to Yakima for the Bobo Brayton Invitational. The Titans Pitching staff was the star of the weekend. In the opener, TCC defeated last year's NWAACC runner up, Lane 3-1. Andrew Olson picked up the win going 8 strong innings, scattering 5 hits while striking out 8, before giving way to David Olson for the save. Nick Foster delivered the big hit in the 3rd inning with a 2 RBI double. In the night cap the Titans played Yakima, going 12 innings before a throwing error gave Yakima the 2-1 win. David Lidyard and Jeff Larabee combined to pitch 11 strong innings, but it was not enough. In Day 2 the Titans took on Lane again, defeating them for the 2nd time in as many days, 2-1. Starter Dylan Baker pitched 7 scoreless innings, striking out 9 Lane batters. Matt Jackson pitched a scoreless 8th and David Olson closed the door in the 9th to pick up the save. The 4th game of the weekend against Yakima was cancelled due to no umpires.

This past weekend the Titans swept Olympic College by scores of 10-0 and 5-1. The offense came alive in Game 1. Brandon Johnson provided the big hit in the 5th with a Grand Slam and David Olson's 2 RBI double in the 6th enforced the mercy rule. Andrew Olson pitched a complete game, giving up 1 hit and striking out 6, to pick up his 3rd win of the season. Matt Bell started game 2 and was equally as impressive scattering 3 hits and striking out 8. The only run scored by Olympic was unearned, giving Bell his 1st win in a complete game effort.

In the last Preseason series, the Titans played Shoreline Community College and came away with a split. A strong performance by David Lidyard was all for not as Shoreline's unearned run and cold TCC bats was enough for a 1-0 defeat for the Titans in Game 1. In the 2nd Game, TCC used walks and timely hitting to win 6-4. Dylan Baker started and struck out 10, but was only able to go 4 innings due to pitch count. Matt Jackson pitched 2 scoreless innings to earn the win and David Olson picked up his 3rd save of the year.

"I am pleased with our effort so far. I couldn't ask for much more from our Pitching Staff, they have been tremendous," said Head Coach Ryan Mummert. "We have played almost the least amount of games in the NWAACC, with only 8 Preseason games, so we are still learning what some guys can do. The hitters will improve as we just need to see more live pitching. It's been hard to do with the weather. I am excited for Conference to start and it's going to be a battle like every year in the West."

The 2011 TCC Baseball team has concluded its Preseason schedule with a 6-2 record and will now get ready for its Conference opener this weekend against Clark College. Saturday the Titans play at Clark, Doubleheader starting at 1pm, and return home Sunday for the 2nd half of the series starting at 1pm.
