Tacoma, WA - Former TCC Titan standout shortstop Todd Muecklisch was the 797th pick overall in the 2010 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft this past week by the Florida Marlins. The Thomas Jefferson High School product, has played the last two years at NAIA powerhouse Lewis Clark State College.

Muecklisch played two seasons at Tacoma before earning a baseball scholarship to LC State to play for ABCA Hall of Fame coach Ed Cheff. This past season, the senior played in just 16 games due to a broken wrist, but batted .327 with 4 home runs.

"Todd is a terrific kid who has worked hard to overcome a lot of obstacles. I could not be more proud of him. I am so happy that he will get an opportunity to chase his dream. I've been privileged to watch him grow up certainly as a player, but more so as a student and as a person. The Marlins are getting a good one." - Head Coach Donegal Fergus

The Florida Marlins scout who signed Muecklisch is former Mt Hood Head Coach Gabe Sandy.
