Aberdeen, WA - TCC hammered Grays Harbor College by scores 7-2, 14-3, and 13-1 over the past weekend to move to 5-2 in the NWAACC Western Division, and into a 3-way tie for first place, with a 5-2 conference record. The bats finally came alive, and the pitching staff was dominant in the three-game series.

Saturday's game was played in Tacoma, and went Tacoma's way 7-2. David Lidyard got the start on the mound for the Titans, but only lasted 2 innings, before giving way to fellow frosh Andrew Olson. The lefty came on in relief for 5 full innings, striking out 10. He allowed only 2 hits and no runs. "Olson's effort was superb. He gave us the lift we needed after some struggles early. That's what being a great teammate is about, picking up your team when they need you most," said Head Coach Donegal Fergus.

David Olson provided the big blow offensively, as he blasted a Choker offering over the wall for a 2-run bomb in the bottom of the first.

Sunday was again a big offensive day for TCC, as they pounded out 22 hits in the doubleheader, both of which were shortened by two innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Colton Brown and Jordan Staples each picked up victories on the afternoon, after giving very solid performances on the mound. Brown moves his record to 4-1, while Staples improves to 2-2.

Olson had another monster day at the plate, collecting 4 more hits, including another home run. Matt Williams really got things rolling as well, after being inserted into the leadoff spot, reaching base 7 times and scoring 5 runs.

A big weekend looms for Tacoma, as they head to Auburn on Saturday to face Green River, then return home on Sunday to finish out their season series against Pierce College. Saturday's first pitch is scheduled for 2pm at Auburn Mountainview HS, while Sunday's contests begin at 1pm at Minnitti Field.
