Auburn, WA - The 2009 season came to a close on Sunday, as the TCC Titans dropped the rubber match of their three-game playoff series with Green River. The loss eliminated Tacoma from the championship hunt, as Green River moves on as one of the final eight teams to the NWAACC Tournament.

After downing the Gators in Game One of the series on Saturday 8-4, behind the dominant performance by freshman Colton Brown, the Titans dropped Game Two 7-3. That meant Sunday's third and final game would mean the difference between moving on and going home.

Sunday saw Tacoma run out of healthy arms and bodies, as two pitchers and three starting position players were unable to play due to injuries. TCC stumbled out of the gate, allowing five runs in the first inning, a deficit from which they never recovered, eventually losing 14-2.

The loss takes Tacoma's overall record to 22-17.
