After Wednesday, Tacoma stands at 12-9 in conference play and in 3rd place, four games behind Green River. The Titans and the Gators will battle twice more on Saturday, followed by a doubleheader versus Centralia on Sunday to close out the regular season.

Tacoma picked up a series and season sweep of Grays Harbor over the weekend, taking down the Chokers 7-2, 6-3, and 3-1, respectively. Tacoma has never lost to Grays Harbor during the Fergus era, holding a perfect 10-0 record.

Game 1 against the Chokers did not look good for the first five innings, as Grays Harbor grabbed a 2-0 lead in the 4th. With two outs and the bases empty in the inning, the Chokers used back-to-back singles, a hit batter, and another bloop single to score 2 runs and put the Titans back on their heels. Tacoma starting pitcher Keith Young, despite giving up only 2 runs on the day, did not factor in the decision. Reliever Jake Valentine picked up the win with 2 scoreless innings.

The Titan lineup finally broke through with a run in the 6th on an Allan Bennett RBI single, then went ahead for good with a 4-run 7th. After Danny Myers singled and Young walked, Diego Robles reached safely on an error by the Grays Harbor 3rd baseman to load the bases. Freshman catcher Anthony Dallosto promptly singled home Myers, then Bennett came through again, singling home Young and Robles. Dallosto jogged home one batter later when Justin Thornton doubled. Tacoma tacked on 2 more in the 8th to push the winning margin to 7-2.

Game 2 was another tight contest, with the Titans trailing 2-1 heading into the 6th inning. After a Valentine groundout, Bennett singled and stole second. Thornton then singled himself, advancing Bennett to third. After a wild pitch that moved Thornton into scoring position, shortstop Todd Muecklisch walked to load the bases. Myers knocked in two runs with a base hit to left, and scampered to second on the throw trying to cut down Muecklisch going to third. Young's sacrifice fly to deep center plated another run for the Titans, and Myers completed the scoring in the inning on a wild pitch soon after. Closer BA Garner came on for the save in relief of starter Dan Cox, who picked up his 4th win of the year.

The final game of the series with Grays Harbor was every bit as tense as the first two. Although they never trailed, Tacoma did not make it easy on themselves and were never able to separate from the Chokers. Titan starter Jesse Nunley was very effective all afternoon, checking Grays Harbor on just 3 hits. He did not allow a run. The lone Choker run came in the 9th, when Garner allowed a couple of hits, combined with two Tacoma errors.

Tacoma, WA - On Wednesday, the Titans played host to the Green River Gators for a single 9-inning game at Minnitti Field. Despite outhitting the Gators 13-7, and leading in the top of the 9th inning, Tacoma dropped the contest to their rival, 6-5.

Young got the start on the mound, surrendering just 1 earned run on the day, but earned a no-decision. Nunley worked a scoreless 8th in relief, and BA absorbed the loss, allowing 3 unearned runs in the 9th.

The Titans had taken the lead in the 6th inning on 3 doubles from Muecklisch, Myers, and Dallosto.

Tacoma will travel to Green River to complete the season series with a doubleheader on Saturday. Game time is set for 1pm.

The Titans then travel to Centralia on Sunday to wrap up their regular season with a doubleheader beginning at 1pm.
