Cox and Garner Sign with Hawaii Pacific

Tacoma, WA - Sophomore pitchers Dan Cox and BA Garner both have inked National Letters of Intent to play at Hawaii Pacific University starting next fall. Both players had tremendous years last season for the Titans, and are excited about the opportunity playing in Hawaii and for Coach Garett Yukumoto. Cox, a lefthander from Peninsula HS in Gig Harbor, WA, was 8-3 on the year, with a 3.29 ERA, including a brilliant performance in the Titan's NWAACC Tournament second-round win against Wenatchee Valley CC. Garner was Tacoma's closer in 2006, notching an NWAACC-leading 12 saves to go along with 2 victories and a miniscule 1.29 ERA. Those numbers garnered him 1st Team All NWAACC and the title of NWAACC Closer of the Year. "Both Dan and BA were hugely important pieces in our NWAACC Tournament run last year, and I'm confident that they will both be great players for us again this season. Coach Yukumoto is getting two quality arms next fall and I have no doubts they will be successful for him and the Sea Warriors ballclub." Garner and Cox will also be joining another Titan at Hawaii Pacific - former Tacoma shortstop Zack Parnell.
