English as a Second Language

Adult Basic Education/English as a Second Language classes can help you improve English communication skills to prepare for college and improve job skills.

How Do I Enroll?

Here are the steps:

  • Come to the ABE office in Bldg. 7. Fill out an admission form and receive your TCC student number. Bring a valid picture ID.
  • Use your TCC Student ID number to sign in for the information session. Sessions are limited to 30 students. The sign in sheet will be available 30 minutes before the information sesssion starts -- bring a pen or pencil. The next information session is posted below.
  • Attend your appointment for placement and registration (received at the information session). This session takes about 3 hours.
  • Register into available classes at your appointment.
  • Tuition for all basic skills classes is $25 per quarter, plus $5-$15 material fees per class. Some students may be eligible for tuition assistance.
  • Attend classes and watch your skills grow!

Information Sessions

When is the next information session?

Morning class Information Session
Tuesday, June 11, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Tuesday, June 18, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Evening class Information Session
Tuesday, June 11, 6-8 p.m.
Tuesday, June 18, 6-8 p.m.

It is mandatory that you attend one of these sessions in order to be given an appointment for placement and registration into available classes.

Check-in at the Adult Basic Skills front desk in Bldg. 7. We will have a sign-in sheet available 30 minutes prior to the session.

You will need to have your student ID number when you sign-in. If you do not have a student ID number, come to the Basic Skills office with your picture ID before the day of the information session to receive your number.

*Please note: We do not offer beginning ESL levels 1 and 2.

Summer quarter begins on June 24, 2013.
