Who is Eligible?

Students between the ages of 16 and 21.
Students who have not received their high school diploma.
Students who reside within the boundaries of Tacoma Public Schools.

Who is a Good Candidate for Fresh Start?

Fresh Start works best for students who are motivated to learn in a highly academic setting. Students need to be able to:

Work independently in a mature educational environment.
Attend class on a daily basis. Most Fresh Start students are on campus 4 to 5 hours daily.
Manage their time well. Students can expect 4-6 hours of homework per day once they are in college courses. Students must not only have the desire to be in school, but the time. Students that work more than 20 hours per week should seriously consider the time commitment this program requires.
Be motivated to earn college credits. Since Fresh Start students accumulate college credit simulaneously while completing their high school diploma, many of our students decide to continue their college education once they have completed their high school diploma requirements.
