Admission Information

We are excited to announce that our first cohort of students will enter the program Fall 2018. 

Admission into the Community Health BAS degree will be first come based on registration (not the order of application submission). Once you meet the entry requirements you can apply at any time. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. New students enter every Fall. For full information on how enrollment works please be sure and visit our Virtual Information Session

Fall applications for priority consideration are due no later than May 7th with issuance of permission codes  by May 18th.   Applications received after May 7th will be put in a pool for late consideration if there are any available seats after priority consideration students are seated. Late consideration students who meet the entry requirements will be assigned permission codes on an ongoing basis after review of transcripts (no later than 2 weeks after submission of application).  Those wishing to use Employee State Waivers will be notified on September 24th if there is any available space for registration.

Steps for Admission

1.  Apply for general admission to TCC.  If you are a returning student who has not attended classes for more than two quarters, please call 253.566.5325 to update your general information. The application is free.

2. Apply for specific admission to the CH BAS program. Complete the online BAS application

3.  Send an email to bachelordegrees@tacomacc.edu that includes:

  • Unofficial transcripts
  • Resume
  • Copy of any industry credentials or license # (if you have no credentials or license simply state that in the body of the email)
  • Certificate of Completion from the Virtual Information Session

4. Your application will be reviewed to ensure that you meet the requirements for admission.

5. You will receive an email letting you know if you meet the requirements or if there is more you need to do (allow 2 weeks for this - if you have not heard anything in 2 weeks please email bachelordegrees@tacomacc.edu).

6. If you meet the requirements you will receive directions on what to do next. Meeting the requirements does NOT guarantee entry into the Community Health BAS degree as admission is based on first come registration.

FINANCIAL AID: It is also very important that you begin the Financial Aid Process at the time of your application submission as it can take time to get everything in place. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov for the correct school year. Our school code is 003796. The 2018-19 school year begins with fall quarter 2018. The 2018-19 FAFSA will be based on 2016 income and 2016 tax return information.
