With a rigorous undergraduate science background, students can apply for graduate degrees in Dietetics with internships. Then they can take the Registration Exam, qualifying them to be Registered Dietitians. Most of the programs listed below offer Nutrition from a Western perspective. Program Description

TCC offers courses that cover prerequisites for application to a wide variety of Nutrition programs.

Degree Options: Associate in Arts degree (Option A) (PDF)

Program Planning

High School Preparation: While in high school, students should pursue all the available courses in mathematics, chemistry, biology, and physics. Students should gain exposure to the nutrition profession by observing, assisting, and gaining work experience in offices, clinics, hospitals, and research facilities, and by exploring the medical literature.

Recommended Class Schedule: We suggest the following schedule of classes for students who wish to earn the Associate Degree in Arts and Sciences at TCC. This degree is flexible, and some substitutions can be made - providing that the course of studies is in agreement for the Arts and Sciences Option A degree. Discuss your plan with your advisor as they can tell you which quarters the courses are more likely to be offered.
