Associate of Science with a Biology Specialization

(AS-T Transfer Degree) (Prog. Code UD11)

This degree requires more math and chemistry but does not fulfill all of the general education distribution courses usually required for a bachelor's degree. Students receiving this degree will complete the rest of their general education distribution courses after transferring to a four-year institution. But, for many students the Associate of Science degree better prepares them for the junior level coursework required for their science major.

Students who know the institution to which they plan to transfer and who are interested in an Option B degree should consult with advisors at their intended transfer institution regarding the specific program requirements. Students must also consult with a designated Option B faculty advisor before the end of their first year at TCC. Students who pursue Option B degrees are responsible for securing adequate assurance from the four-year transfer institution that their Option B programs will be accepted.
