Medical Registration and Admissions Specialist

TCC’s Medical Registration and Admissions Specialist program prepares students for employment in entry-level positions in a health care office. This certificate leads directly into either the Medical Reimbursement Specialist or Physician Practice Management certificate, which in turn leads to the AAS degree.

This certificateprovides students the skills necessary for entry-level employment in a medical/health care office setting with increasing levels of responsibility and employability. Duties may include reception, scheduling appointments, preparing routine correspondence, processing bills, andmaintaining health information.

Some of these courses may be offered.  For those new to online learning or are feeling unsure about your online expertise, we suggest taking the 2-credit TCC course OLL 101 (Online Learning 101).

Note: Students who successfully complete the Medical Registration and Admissions Specialist certificate will also have completed all of the prerequisite courses for the Medical Reimbursement Specialist and the Health Information Technology AAS degree and may ladder directly into the second quarter of either of those certificate programs.

This program is also offered as an I-BEST certificate program. I-BEST programs are designed for students who want to improve English language or basic skills while also earning a college-level certificate or 2-year degree.
